KS Day Celebration

We gathered with our homeschool group, 
Christian Home Education Association or
CHEA from 1:30 to 4:00pm yesterday
to share what the families learned
this month about Kansas.

Here are a few pictures:

Joshua related some history about 'Bat' Masterson,
famous Kansas lawman and gunslinger, known best 
for whipping bad guys with his cane.


 
 Isaac gave an exciting report about the Pony Express,
replete with actions to demonstrate the dangers
the riders faced along the routes.  Very animated!


  
 Seth told about the state symbols.
He even explained how to tell the difference
between a male and female ornate box turtle,
the state reptile.  He also shared the state soil!  lol


  
Erik gave a report on the amazing buffalo.  Did you
know their horns can pierce steel?  Neither did I!

I WAS VERY PROUD OF THEM!!!


The younger children made a huge map of Kansas:

 


And the older kids participated in a Kansas quiz game:
